Final Closing Post
As this is my first year studying media I have learnt a lot in terms of media terminology. I've also been able to develop my technical skills in filming and editing. prior to studying media I didn't realise how many aspects are consider when creating a media product in order to make it successful until we went through the micro and macro elements of certain scenes and that is when I was able to spot how every single thing within the scene has a purpose and by doing some research I was able to find out the importance of everything within the scene from props to lighting. whilst studying media I also found out that the things we find to be minor and barely pay attention to has had a lot of work and thought for it to feature there for example the credits and the billing orders, it may seem like a list which has been thrown in but I've learnt it has a structure and the billing orders are important especially when trying to attract an audience. what I've enjoyed the most about media this year is looking at films title sequences and drawing out meaning from them especially because I don't usually pay attention to title sequences but now when I see them i look at certain aspects to see how effective it is and I now appreciate the effort that goes in to make them. i have also enjoyed finding out about enigma codes because it is interesting to see how the directors and editors think is best to capture the audiences attention. most of all I enjoyed creating the title sequence because we had a clear vision in mind once the script was written, the filming itself was enjoyable to see a plan coming together and we were able to test out new techniques when it comes to filming so it was very beneficial.

Evaluation Questions
Today we were given 7 of our evaluation questions to look at.
We ranked them in order according to our perception of its importance.
The most important question seemed to be the one based on the audience because without the audience in mind at first it is hard to build up a product and with an audience in mind all the technical skills you use and conventions they are all based on the audience you initially choose.
The last was the social group it represents because a lot of the time especially within a 2 minute sequence social groups it presents aren't usually focused on as much unless it is presented in a negative way and in terms of that there isn't as much to write about especially if there is only 1 character present in the sequence unless you talk about how the connotations of the genre reflect a specific stereotype. In contrast to the technical skills learnt along the way it is certainly not as important because the technical skills are essential in creating a good sequence.

Evaluation Plan
Plan for Questions 1-7
Question 1:
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products.
I'm planning to us either a Prezi or a Pop up Video in order to show the conventions it shares with other media products and whether or not it fits the typical conventions of a horror movie. i'll add in clips from other media products in order to make the comparison.
Question 2:
How does your media product represent particular social groups.
I will research certain social groups and review whether or not our product fits in with other social stereotypes and review how they've been presented.
I will use UK Tribes to find different social groups and to answer the question i will use PowToon.
Question 3:
What kind of institution would distribute your sequence?
I would use the IMDB template to display the institution that would potentially distribute it if it became a big blockbuster movie.
Question 4:
Who would be the audience for your media product?
I will use Blabberiser to discuss the target audience for the title sequence is and i will use a characteriser such as pixel creator to create a visual of my target audience in order to reflect a better understanding of what they're like.
Question 5:
How did you attract/address your target audience?
I will create a survey using survey monkey and give it to my intended target audience after viewing the product to see what they think about the product and then review which areas were successful in drawing the audience in.
Question 6:
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Question 7:
Looking back at your preliminary task (The continuity editing task) what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to a full product?
For this question i will create a comparison video to look over all i've learnt and aspects i've improved in since the preliminary task and the major differences i experienced creating the final product as opposed to creating the preliminary task.

Source of inspiration
Eminems 3am music video contains a lot of Genre Conventions we would like to use as Enigma Codes in our Title Sequence.
For example we see Eminem in a bath full of red liquid which we automatically associate with blood, this suggests a dark and scary tone which is what we're aiming for with our final product.
We also see knives and footprints on the ground which suggests a crime has taken place.
The settings also suggest a horror as they are set in mysterious and dark places.

Day 5 - Filming
This was our last day of filming and we filmed our garage scene. This went well because we were fully equipped with all the props and accessories needed to make it look quite realistic. the filming could have been even better if we had enough time to re film certain parts such as when 'Agnesa' cuts up another character. the filming was successful, although it was a dark scene we were able to get a portable light source so that the main character can still be seen and the lighting also enhanced the sense of importance. The garage fitted perfectly with the sort of atmosphere we were trying to create.

Day 4 Filming
We filmed the next part of our title sequence in a bathroom and living room this would have went a lot better if we hadn't forgotten a tripod because this part was quite complicated to film and it was very risky as we were filming an extreme close up of water flowing into the bathtub but other than that we were able to experiment filming at different angles to add effect and add an abstract element. We also filmed scenes of the characters walking through the door so we experimented with the levels and the angles to take it from simply by recording on a set of stairs to get a better view.

Day 3 of Filming
Today we completed the filming needed at our second location! We were able to film the bar scene and the staff were working as normal which helped it seem more realistic. The first half of our sequence has been filmed.

Filming - Day 2
We filmed outside of our second location to make sure we had extra coverage of the area to build up on when editing our title sequence.

Filming - Day 1
Our first day of filming has been very productive!
We filmed the beginning of our title sequence at our first location and we also managed to get the permission needed to film the bar scene.
It would have been better if we got the chance to travel further to film this part of the sequence and if we could get equipment to be able to film a tracking shot for this part of the sequence because filming it by hand would mean that the footage would be shaky and unprofessional.
